Tashkent hosted the First International Conference “Aquaculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Growth Points and Development Potential”.
The event was organized by Melkom Group, a manufacturer of AQUAREX feed, and the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO). The event brought together more than 100 representatives of fish farms in Uzbekistan.
The conference focused on improving the efficiency of fish production. Scientists from VNIRO presented their research on carp breeding and on the quality control of feed adapted to the climatic conditions of Uzbekistan.

CEO of Melkom-Market LLC (part of the Melkom Group), Dmitry Yakimov, spoke about the technologies used in feed production and the quality control system at the enterprises.
A warehouse of finished products has been opened in Uzbekistan, and the network of sales points is currently being expanded. The minimum purchase volume is one bag, allowing agricultural producers to test the feed on their own farms without needing to purchase large quantities.
Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekbaliqsanoat Association, Shukhrat Rakhmatov, noted that cooperation with foreign producers and scientific institutions gives Uzbekistan’s farms access to advanced technologies.
