The International Water Resources Association is hosting the 19th World Water Congress in Marrakech.

At the congress, titled “Water in a Changing World: Innovation and Adaptation”, special attention is given to strengthening global water systems and developing innovative solutions for a sustainable future.

The event is one of the largest scientific and practical conferences, bringing together international experts, scholars, representatives of international organizations, and specialists in water supply and irrigation from more than 100 countries.

Uzbekistan’s delegation is also actively participating in this prestigious conference, led by Timur Butunbayev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Water Supply System Reform.

Participants are discussing issues of water security and sustainable development, as well as climate change and its impact on water resources, irrigation, drainage, and agricultural water supply. The agenda also includes the development of urban and rural water supply and sanitation systems, the introduction of innovative technologies, water diplomacy, and the management of transboundary water resources.

The event will continue until 5 December. Uzbekistan’s delegation is expected to present its initiatives at the congress, focusing on innovative approaches based on national experience.
