Baku Energy Week: Current issues of the energy sector under discussion
The growing global demand for energy resources, the development of renewable energy sources, and the need to ensure energy security require strengthening international cooperation.
In this regard, Baku Energy Week 2026 is becoming a key platform for exchanging experiences, discussing investment potential, and promoting promising projects.

During the second day’s events, the participants discussed current issues in the energy sector and presented new technologies and investment projects.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev became familiar with Uzbekistan’s national stand. The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, informed the Azerbaijani leader about the reforms underway in Uzbekistan’s energy sector.

Additionally, during the forum, J. Mirzamakhmudov held bilateral meetings with representatives of several states and international organizations. In particular, negotiations were held with Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, and Stephanie Gil, World Bank Practice Manager for Energy in Europe and Central Asia.
During the meetings, the current state of cooperation in the energy sector, the implementation of joint projects, the expansion of investment cooperation, and the prospects for implementing new initiatives were discussed in detail.
