On October 11, Ashgabat will host the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

A meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS was held on the eve of this event. The sides exchanged views on the current issues of the agenda of the summit.

The delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov also attended the meeting.

Heads of delegations exchanged views on the current state of cooperation within the Commonwealth and prospects for its development, as well as on current issues of international policy.

A number of issues, such as the CIS games, information security, fight against illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were also discussed.

The draft documents that will be submitted for approval at the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of States on October 11, in Ashgabat, were considered at the meeting.

On this day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov attended the second meeting of Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and Russia.

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Russia Foreign Ministers exchanged views on ensuring stability and security, prospects for regional economic cooperation, and enhancing cultural-humanitarian exchange.

Proposals for further development and strengthening of cooperation between Central Asia and Russia, implementation of joint economic projects, increasing the volume of mutual trade were considered at the meeting.

The parties agreed to hold regular meetings of Ministers of this format.

On October 10, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov attended the ceremony of signing the Protocol of exchanging instruments of ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the area of state borders junction point of the three states, signed on November 10, 2017 in Samarkand.

The document was also signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

According to the signed Protocol, the Agreement has entered into force on October 10, 2019.
