Andijan International Airport opens a new chapter in its air cargo history

Yesterday, Andijan Airport received its first Challenge Air Cargo Boeing 747-400F, which transported a significant shipment of pedigree cattle.

The flight from Liège Airport in Belgium brought 160 pedigree cattle, weighing a total of 83.3 tons. These Simmental and Holstein cows from Germany were delivered to Uzbekistan to bolster the country’s livestock sector development.

Simmental cattle are appreciated for their adaptability and high output in dairy and beef, whereas Holsteins are renowned globally for their top milk production. Bringing them in will enhance the country’s breeding herd and boost domestic livestock farming efficiency.

Another vital stage involved managing the handling of this specialized cargo. Once landed, experts quickly unloaded the animals, conducted veterinary inspections, and then loaded them onto specialized transport vehicles. All steps strictly adhered to relevant veterinary standards and biosecurity protocols, essential for the international transportation of live animals.

Experts from Uzbekistan Airports and Andijan International Airport managed all processes. Thanks to their coordinated efforts, the cargo was handled securely, animals experienced comfortable unloading conditions, and they were dispatched promptly to their destination.
