The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On supporting the establishment of the UNESCO – Uzbekistan International Award named after Abu Rayhon Beruni”.

To deeply study and widely promote at the international level the scientific and enlightenment heritage of the great thinker and encyclopedic scientist Abu Rayhon Beruni, who made a considerable contribution to world civilization, to stimulate ethical aspects, inclusiveness, and cultural diversity in artificial intelligence, to further enhance scientific and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and UNESCO, as well as by the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of August 25, 2022 No. PR-361 “On the wide celebration on an international scale of the 1050th Anniversary of the great thinker and scientist-encyclopedist Abu Rayhon Beruni’s birth”, an international UNESCO – Uzbekistan Award named after Abu Rayhon Beruni will be established.

By the resolution of the President, a plan was approved to hold a high-level international exhibition and events dedicated to the life and work of Abu Rayhon Beruni, which will be held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris (France) on September 4-8, 2023.

For presentation at the exhibition, it is planned to publish a special catalog in English and Uzbek containing copies of unique manuscripts stored in libraries worldwide.

Within the framework of the exhibition, a concert program of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan will be organized.
