Alisher Ganiyev – Asian Champion
The Asian Wrestling Championships took place in Bishkek.
Members of the Uzbekistan national team won two gold medals, two bronze medals, and one silver medal in Greco-Roman wrestling competitions.
In the final, Alisher Ganiyev, competing in the 60 kg weight class, defeated Se Ung Ri of North Korea. In the bronze medal match in the 72 kg weight class, Shakhzod Kuchkarov beat Taishi Narikuni of Japan.
In the 55 kg weight category, Ikhtiyor Botirov took the top spot, while Rafael Sitsuashvili earned the silver medal in the 130 kg category. Additionally, in the 77 kg division, Doniyorkhon Nakibov secured a bronze medal.
The Uzbekistan national team finished third in the overall standings, with Iran and Kyrgyzstan taking first and second place, respectively.
