ADB will support the development of the preschool education sector in Samarkand
As part of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank, held in Samarkand, this issue was discussed at a meeting between bank officials and the Hokim of Samarkand region.
During talks between Adiz Boboyev and Takeo Koike, Head of ADB Office of Markets Development and Public-Private Partnership, as well as Mohammed Azim Hashimi, Director of Advisory Division 1, issues were discussed regarding the design, construction, reconstruction, and commissioning of nearly 100 preschool education institutions in Samarkand under a public-private partnership.
At present, selection work is underway to renovate 43 kindergartens in the region fully. At the same time, the regional administration plans to propose nearly 80 land plots for new construction projects.
The stages for implementing the project have also been determined: a two-stage tender process will begin in the second quarter of 2026. In 2027, a public-private partnership agreement with the winning investor is planned to be signed. Construction is scheduled to be fully completed by 2030.
Mr. Boboyev emphasized the importance of considering regional needs when constructing new preschool education institutions, noting the need for careful preparation of the required land plots.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to strengthen their cooperation to implement this project effectively.
