ADB allocates $1.3 million
A meeting with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank took place at the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan.
Deputy Minister Ozoda Jurayeva, along with key officials from the ministry, the Tashkent City Hokimiyat, and JSC Issiqliktaminoti, attended the event.
Discussions covered current and promising initiatives to modernize utility infrastructure, boost energy efficiency, and improve utility services for residents. The parties shared their perspectives on preparing a project to upgrade district heating systems in Navoi, Tashkent, and Fergana regions, including its technical and financial details. It was mentioned that the Asian Development Bank has allocated a $1.3 million grant to support this project’s preparation.

The parties also discussed issues related to implementing a grant project to train specialists in modern knowledge and skills in heat supply and to enhance their qualifications in line with international standards.
The participants reviewed the progress of projects aimed at developing water supply and sewerage systems, with the Asian Development Bank’s involvement. They discussed detailed plans to provide drinking water and sewerage services to mahallas in Sergeli, Bektemir, Yashnabad, and Mirzo Ulugbek districts.
