Favorable conditions have been created across the regions of Uzbekistan for tourists, with measures being taken to develop modern infrastructure rapidly and to expand and improve the quality of tourism, hotel, and transport services.
These efforts have contributed to a steady increase in tourist arrivals in the country.
According to the National Statistics Committee, over the past five months, 4.2 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes, an increase of 1.4 million compared to the same period last year.
Analysis shows that the inflow of Italian tourists to Uzbekistan increased by 13.5%. From January to May, 17,400 individuals arrived from Italy. Among them, 16,410 Italian citizens visited for tourism purposes, 530 came to visit relatives, 400 came for business purposes, and 43 came for education.
Interest in Uzbekistan has also grown significantly among Japanese visitors. During the same period, 10,000 citizens of Japan visited the country, an increase of 3,500 people, or 53.2%, compared to the same period last year. Of these, 8,950 arrived for tourism, 751 to visit relatives, 286 for business purposes, and 37 for commercial and educational reasons.
