Uzbekistan’s para taekwondo athletes win eight medals
The World Taekwondo President’s Cup – Asia took place in Lahore, Pakistan.
The prestigious competition brought together nearly 100 para athletes from 15 countries. The Uzbekistan national team won one gold, three silver, and four bronze medals, finishing third in the overall team standings.
Karomat Rustamova achieved the best result among Uzbekistan athletes in the -52 kg weight category. She defeated all her opponents to claim the gold medal.
Silver medals were won by Madina Musinova in the -47 kg category, Umida Mamarajabova in the -52 kg category, and Zulfiya Bikbulatova in the -65 kg category. Bronze medals were won by Fayoz Valijonov in the -58 kg category, Qudrat Haydarov and Zuhriddin Tohirov in the -63 kg category, and Umarjon Muydinov in the +80 kg category.
Karomat Rustamova was also named Best Female Athlete at the tournament.
With eight medals, the Uzbekistan national team secured third place in the overall team standings.
