Uzbekistan’s cadet judokas achieve success at the world championships
Today, August 22, the winners and medalists in the heavier weight categories will be announced during the third day of the ongoing World Cadet Judo Championships in Ecuador.
Today, four members of the Uzbekistan national team will compete.
-81 kg: Samandar Sunnatov – Ruben Corona (Mexico)/Daniel Yurkovsky (France)
-90 kg: Jurabek Eshpulatov – Sem Dennemon (France)/Mungundul Batjargal (Mongolia)
+90 kg: Alibek Durdiyev – Giorgi Laliashvili (Spain)/Marcus Rosa (Brazil)
-70 kg: Poshshajon Jumaboyeva – Maria Eleni Papaioannou (Greece).

On the second day of the championships, Uzbekistan’s Bekhruzbek Usmonov in the -73 kg category secured a bronze medal at the World Championships by defeating Azerbaijan’s Sadig Mammadov in a tough bronze medal match.
Before today’s third-day events, Uzbekistan has won five medals at the World Championships – one gold and four bronze. Uzbekistan’s cadet judokas rank among the top three countries in the medal tally out of 60 participating nations.
Tomorrow, members of the Uzbekistan national team will compete on the tatami in the mixed team event with 12 national teams.
