Preparations for the Chess Olympiad discussed
From September 15 to 27, Samarkand will host the 3rd FIDE Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities, followed by the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad from September 10 to 18. Over 200 national teams are expected to participate, with extensive preparations currently underway.
Before the major tournaments, a second online seminar was organized for arbiters. The speakers included Deputy Chief Arbiters Carolina Munoz Solis for the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad and Swapnil Bansod for the 3rd FIDE Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities. The event gathered top arbiters and specialists from Uzbekistan and beyond.

During the theoretical sessions, the focus was on tournament regulations, arbiters’ responsibilities, and managing complex technical situations that occur during games.
The FIDE Congress and the FIDE Excellence Awards ceremony are also scheduled to take place during the Olympiad.
