The IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians takes place in Belgrade

At the invitation of the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia – the National Assembly – a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, visits Serbia.

As part of the official visit, the senators are participating in the IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians in Belgrade.

The conference is attended by parliamentary delegations, representatives of international organizations, and experts – more than 400 participants from 65 countries.

The event was opened by Inter-Parliamentary Union President Tulia Ackson, who emphasized the importance of this international forum.

At the first session of the Global Conference, Senate Chairperson Ms. Narbayeva will deliver a speech.

The primary goal of the IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians is to ensure gender equality and to expand women’s participation in political decision-making.
