Regional Center for Preschool Education Development to be established in Tashkent
A Regional Center dedicated to Preschool Education Development will be established within the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Managers and Specialists of Preschool Educational Institutions in Tashkent.
This is mandated by the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution titled “On the establishment of the Regional Center for Preschool Education Development in Tashkent”, of August 18.
What responsibilities will the Center undertake?
The Center will foster regional and international collaboration in preschool education, conduct joint research on educational programs and methodologies of UNESCO Member States, and support the development and implementation of modern educational initiatives focused on early childhood development.
The Center will oversee the implementation of the Tashkent Declaration on preschool education through 2030 and produce regular reports. These efforts aim to reinforce the perspective that preschool education is not just a preparatory stage for school but also a vital period for early development.
A primary focus of the Center will be developing new methods for re-educating teaching staff. Modern preschool education demands that educators not only have the practical skills for working with children but also a thorough understanding of their psychological, social, and intellectual growth. Therefore, integrating international best practices into teacher training and professional development is especially important.
The Center is anticipated to serve as a key platform for fostering international collaboration in preschool education, advancing scientific research, and applying innovative educational practices.
