Production of modern construction materials expands in Karakalpakstan
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the activities of Coals KS in Nukus.
The total project cost is $16.3 million. The enterprise produces aerated concrete blocks and lime. A 4.8-hectare land plot in the Nukus Free Economic Zone has been allocated for aerated concrete block production, while the lime production facilities are located on a 4.8-hectare site in Qorauzak district.
The enterprise has an annual production capacity of 300,000 cubic meters of aerated concrete blocks and 165,000 tons of lime. In addition to supplying the domestic market with modern construction materials, this capacity will enable the company to export its products. The company plans to supply Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
Local resources account for 96 percent of the raw materials used in production. In particular, domestic enterprises supply quartz sand, cement, and gypsum. This reliance helps reduce production costs and ensures stable supplies.
The aerated concrete blocks produced by the enterprise are lightweight and offer high thermal and sound insulation. They are three to four times lighter than traditional bricks, helping reduce construction costs.
Today, the enterprise employs 200 residents. To date, the company has completed five major projects totaling $200 million. Construction continues on another four projects totaling $40 million.
The Head of State reviewed the production processes and products, heard about the enterprise’s plans, and held a sincere conversation with its employees.
The importance of maintaining high product quality while reducing production costs was noted, along with the need to expand production volumes and export capacity and to regularly improve employees’ professional skills. The enterprise’s management and responsible officials received relevant recommendations and instructions.
