Modern construction materials made from local basalt in Nukus
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the activities of Nukus Insulation Group in Nukus.
The enterprise produces modern thermal insulation materials from locally sourced basalt. The project aims to ensure the efficient use of Karakalpakstan’s rich natural resources and contributes to the development of the region’s construction materials industry.
The project was implemented in accordance with the Presidential Resolution “On additional measures for the comprehensive socio-economic development and employment of the population of the Republic of Karakalpakstan” of February 9, 2024.
The enterprise, with a total project value of $50 million, is equipped with modern European machinery. This enables the production of goods from local raw materials that meet international standards.
The enterprise has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of thermal insulation materials, valued at 300 billion UZS. The enterprise has created 150 new jobs.
Basalt-based insulation materials are known for their fire resistance, thermal insulation, and long service life. Their use in construction improves the energy efficiency of buildings and structures while reducing heating and cooling costs.
The Head of State reviewed the production process and the products produced at the enterprise and held a warm conversation with its employees.
Here, the hokims of the regions assigned to Karakalpakstan’s districts also reported on the work carried out over the past period.
The President noted that the regions need to expand their efforts to support and improve these districts. The importance of strengthening ties and industrial cooperation among the regions, jointly using available opportunities, and increasing the number of projects aimed at boosting employment and household incomes was emphasized.
