Issues of strengthening interethnic harmony discussed

An international scientific and practical conference titled “Nationwide unity is the driving force behind the development of New Uzbekistan!” took place at the Islamic Civilization Center to celebrate Friendship Day. Attendees included representatives from international organizations, academics, experts, leaders of national cultural centers, and the general public.

At the beginning of the event, a congratulatory message from the Head of State was read to the participants. It highlighted that over 130 nations, ethnic groups, and 16 religious denominations coexist peacefully and contribute to the prosperity of New Uzbekistan as one united family.

The conference focused on strengthening nationwide unity and interethnic harmony, promoting tolerance, supporting people’s diplomacy, broadening connections with compatriots abroad, and examining international best practices.

During the event, a group of activists recognized for their substantial contribution to fostering interethnic harmony and promoting people’s diplomacy received the “Khalqlar Dustligi” badge.

Nigora Rakhmonova, Leading Editor of the Politics and News Editorial Department at the Uzbekistan National News Agency, was among the award recipients.

Following the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed involving the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad, the Islamic Civilization Center, and the National Human Rights Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
