Medical cooperation advances to a new stage
During a visit to Bukhara by a delegation led by Professor Chang Liu from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in China, several practical projects were launched, marking a new phase in the medical collaboration between Uzbekistan and China.
A key highlight of the visit was the launch in Bukhara of a collaborative medical screening initiative involving specialists from both nations. Additionally, the Buyrak Interventional Training Center, which specializes in interventional treatments for kidney diseases, has now started its operations.
The visit also focused on key social efforts to safeguard public health. Chinese experts participated in providing free screenings for cervical and breast cancer, along with services for patients on hemodialysis. This effort allowed hundreds of people to access early detection, prompt diagnosis, and proper treatment.
Masterclasses for local doctors included discussions on complex clinical cases, seminars on modern treatment techniques, and activities for sharing experiences, all of which supported the professional growth of healthcare workers.
Discussions with Hokim of Bukhara region Botir Zaripov covered enhancing strategic cooperation between the medical institutions of both countries, launching joint research projects, increasing exchanges of students and academic staff, and adopting innovative medical technologies.
