First Ladies of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan visit the Ohun Guzar showroom

The First Ladies of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan visited the Ohun Guzar showroom in Tashkent.

The showroom showcases local brands that uphold Uzbek craftsmanship traditions and reinterpret them in modern styles. Distinguished guests admired pieces by local artisans and designers that highlight national patterns, age-old handicraft customs, and the cultural values of the Uzbek people.

The cultural program showcased Uzbekistan’s unique customs and traditions, with a special focus on marriage, one of the most significant milestones in a person’s life.

Azerbaijani guests were introduced to customs related to preparing a bride’s trousseau, embroidering suzani, wedding ceremonies, the tradition of seeing the bride off to the groom’s home, the “kelin salom” bridal greeting, “beshik toyi” cradle celebration, and the traditional mother’s lullaby.

The cultural program also highlighted the shared customs and values of the brotherly peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. In both cultures, family, respect for elders, raising children, hospitality, and maintaining national traditions are highly valued and play a central role in daily life.
