Ancient rhythms echo through Bukhara once again

Bukhara hosted the Bukhoro Doira Sadolari festival, celebrating traditional Uzbek musical art.

Held in honor of the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the event sought to promote the rich traditions of doira playing and inspire younger generations to love traditional music.

At the festival, held at Kukeldash Madrasah, participants showcased the doira’s distinctive expressive possibilities, their performance skills, and the charm of traditional musical heritage. Renowned doira masters and performing ensembles from across Bukhara region also took part in the event.

Doira masters and performing ensembles who actively took part in the festival received letters of appreciation and gifts from the regional administration, highlighting its support and appreciation of the artists.
