International conference devoted to the 150th anniversary of the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan
An international scientific and practical conference titled “Museology in the 21st Century: Research, Traditions and Innovations” was held to mark the 150th anniversary of the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.
The conference, organized in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, and the international scientific journal “Science and Innovation”, drew leading specialists in history, archaeology, museology, and cultural heritage preservation from Uzbekistan and abroad.
Heads of state organizations, scientific institutions, and museums who spoke at the conference’s opening ceremony emphasized the role of museums in studying and preserving historical and cultural heritage, as well as the importance of developing scientific research and strengthening international cooperation. A video devoted to the 150th anniversary of the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan was shown at the event.
Participants discussed issues related to studying archaeological and historical heritage, revealing the scientific potential of museum collections, conserving and restoring historical sites, introducing digital technologies into museum activities, and demonstrating ethnographic heritage using modern methods.
As part of the reports presented by representatives from Azerbaijan, the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Tajikistan, Japan, and other countries, the participants exchanged views on modern scientific approaches and international experience in museum activities.
Following the event, the participants became familiar with the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan’s updated exhibition and visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
The international scientific-practical conference served as a key platform for discussing current issues in museology, exchanging research experience, and fostering international cooperation in preserving and promoting historical and cultural heritage.
