Uzbekistan and Russia discuss new areas of cooperation in the film industry

Cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia is expanding into new areas. The focus is on strengthening cooperation in cinematography, organizing joint cultural events, and enhancing inter-museum ties and partnerships to restore cultural heritage.

One of the new initiatives is a proposal to host a Russia – Uzbekistan Film Forum.

According to the Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Lyubimova such a forum could mark an important step in implementing the co-production agreement signed between the two countries.

At the meeting, the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov presented the Friendship Order to Russian Federation People’s Artists Sergey Bezrukov and Andris Liepa.

Following the meeting, the two sides signed a joint protocol outlining the key areas of cultural cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan for the coming year.
