Prospects for Uzbekistan – Russia cooperation in education and migration under discussion
The International Institute for Central Asia hosted a roundtable discussion on “Integration of educational programs and labor market needs in Uzbekistan – Russia cooperation: From personnel training to migration flow management”.
The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, the diplomatic corps, leading educational institutions, scientific research and think tanks, cultural and public organizations, and the business community of the two countries.
The current state and prospects for developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in education, the labor market, and migration were discussed.
Special attention was paid to developing practical recommendations to improve training mechanisms, coordinate educational programs with the needs of the labor market, and manage migration processes.
Three thematic sessions were held as part of the event program. The event addressed the needs of Uzbekistan’s higher education system and labor market, the expansion of human resources through branches of Russian universities, models of interaction between business and educational institutions, and the role of preparatory centers in managing migration processes.
