On June 18, the distinguished guest visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent. President Frank-Walter Steinmeier was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, and other officials.

The Islamic Civilization Center is a vast international hub for science and education, seamlessly blending historical heritage with contemporary scientific advancements.
The domes and portals, combined with refined traditional ornaments, give the structure, which harmonizes ancient architectural styles and national decorative motifs, a unique appearance.

The distinguished guest became acquainted with the exhibitions “Civilizations before Islam”, “The Era of the First Renaissance”, “The Era of the Second Renaissance”, “Uzbekistan in the 20th Century”, and “New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance”, which reflect the key stages in our people’s development. The history of these periods is presented through unique artifacts, manuscript sources, photographs, and multimedia materials.

Members of the delegation also visited the Quran Hall, where they were introduced to one of the Muslim world’s rarest relics – the ancient Uthman Mushaf.

President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier noted the Islamic Civilization Center’s invaluable role in strengthening interstate cultural dialogue and spiritual closeness, as well as in developing international cooperation in modern conditions.
