Efforts to promote kurash among young people worldwide discussed

In Chungju, Republic of Korea, International Kurash Association specialists Jamshid Namozov and Kim Eur Joong met with ICM Chief Expert Jung Manyoung to discuss further efforts to promote Uzbekistan’s national sport, kurash, among young people worldwide.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the results of cooperation between the International Kurash Association and the UNESCO ICM. As part of this cooperation, an international kurash training manual was published with grant funding from ICM.

Efforts are underway to include kurash in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The ICM team’s contribution to promoting kurash internationally was also highlighted.

Particular attention was paid to advancing scientific research on kurash, implementing educational projects, and expanding cooperation.
