Uzbekistan and China introduce a visa-free regime
The Intergovernmental Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China on the mutual abolition of visas will enter into force on June 1, 2025. The document was signed in Chengdu on December 1, 2024, and all necessary domestic procedures for its implementation have now been completed.
According to the Agreement’s provisions, citizens of Uzbekistan and China can freely cross the borders of the two countries without applying for visas for up to 30 days per trip. The total duration of a visa-free stay should not exceed 90 days during any 180 days.
If you plan to stay for more than 30 days, you must apply for a visa in advance.
It is noted that the visa-free regime does not apply to labor, educational, journalistic activities, or other activities requiring special permission from the competent authorities of the host country.
In addition, the Agreement does not cover trips to the special administrative regions of China – Hong Kong and Macau. To visit these regions, it is necessary to apply for visas in accordance with the established procedure.
