What opportunities does green hydrogen present for Uzbekistan’s energy sector?

Specialists from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with representatives of the National Research Institute of Renewable Energy under the ministry, are participating in practical meetings and training seminars in Korea.

The main objective of the program, implemented in cooperation with the Global Green Growth Institute, is to conduct a comprehensive study of the legal, institutional, and technological foundations required to develop a clean hydrogen market in Uzbekistan.

According to the ministry, participants are studying the regulatory framework for developing hydrogen energy, international experience, and modern technologies used in this field. Special attention is being paid to introducing these technologies in industrial sectors, assessing their economic efficiency, and integrating them into the energy system.

During the meetings, prospects for expanding cooperation, implementing joint initiatives, and introducing advanced technologies in the country were discussed.
