Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan expand cooperation in the arts and museum studies
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Tashkent between the National Institute of Fine Art and Design named after Kamoliddin Behzod and the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art.
The document was signed during the visit to Uzbekistan by the Director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, PhD in Art History, Associate Professor Shirin Melikova. She participated in the scientific conference “Museum Education in the 21st Century: Global Context and Transformations”, organized by the Institute.
A separate meeting was held with Rector Omonulla Salikhov. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in museum studies and art history, the preservation and popularization of cultural heritage, scientific research activities, and the development of fine arts.
According to the memorandum, the institutions aim to enhance the exchange of professional experience and knowledge, implement joint projects and scientific research, and foster sustainable professional ties.
The agreement is expected to foster further collaboration between experts from the two countries in the fields of art, museum studies, and cultural heritage preservation.
