Head of Türkiye’s National Library visits the National Library of Uzbekistan
Taner Beyoğlu, Head of the National Library of Türkiye, and Press Secretary Mehmet Ayhan visited the National Library of Uzbekistan.
Umida Teshaboyeva, Director of the National Library of Uzbekistan, welcomed the guests and briefed them on the library’s activities, key areas of work, and ongoing projects.
The guests explored the library’s collection of rare and unique manuscripts, as well as its modern reading rooms, including the “A Glimpse of Türkiye” reading room.
They were also introduced to the book digitization process, ongoing efforts to integrate modern information technologies, and the Multimedia Studio’s activities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed applying modern approaches in national libraries, developing electronic resources, and preserving library collections.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation between the national libraries of the two countries, to exchanging experience, and to studying best practices in the field.
The parties emphasized the importance of implementing joint projects in the future, expanding exchanges among specialists, and supporting initiatives to promote a culture of reading.
