The memory of Alisher Navoi is honored in Türkiye

In honor of the 585th anniversary of the birth of Alisher Navoi, a scientific and educational event titled “The place and significance of Alisher Navoi in Turkic literature” was held at Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya.

The event was organized jointly with the Kimyo International University in Tashkent. Professor Gulnoza Odilova delivered a presentation on the scientific legacy of the great poet and thinker, his role in the history of the Turkic language, contemporary research on Navoi, and the work being carried out in the country to study and promote Navoi’s heritage.

As part of the conference, the book “Pearls of the East”, published at the initiative of the Kimyo International University in Tashkent and translated, among other languages, into Turkish, was presented. The publication is dedicated to the study and promotion of the literary heritage of the great poet Alisher Navoi.

Students read excerpts from works related to Navoi’s literary heritage. During the event, local professors and lecturers also delivered presentations, noting Alisher Navoi’s significant contribution to pan-Turkic literature and spiritual values, and spoke about contemporary research on his legacy being conducted in Türkiye.
