Scholars from around the world discuss the Timurids’ role

An international scientific conference titled “The Role and Significance of Amir Temur and the Timurid Civilization in World History and Culture” has opened at the Islamic Civilization Center.

The event, dedicated to the 690th anniversary of the birth of Amir Temur, was organized at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Nearly 300 scholars, experts, diplomats, and public representatives from various countries are taking part in it.

At the opening, the speakers unanimously recognized Amir Temur and the Timurids’ contributions to the traditions of statehood, diplomacy, military art, and the development of science and culture. It was noted that this period played a crucial role in the formation of the Eastern Renaissance and influenced world civilization.

Conference participants are presenting scientific reports on public administration, diplomacy, military strategy, architecture, urban planning, and the development of science and education. Experts are discussing issues in the scientific study of the Timurid legacy. Participants will also become acquainted with the Center of Islamic Civilization, thematic exhibitions, and Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

Following the conference, important scientific recommendations and joint initiatives will be developed to support in-depth study and broad international promotion of the Timurid legacy.
