Prospects for Uzbekistan – Portuguese cooperation discussed in Lisbon
The Uzbekistan – Portuguese Business Forum was held in Lisbon, bringing together representatives from the business and investment communities of the two countries.
As noted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, leading Portuguese companies interested in developing cooperation with Uzbekistan took part in the event.
During the forum, the parties discussed current issues on the global economic agenda, including the development of sustainable supply chains, the improvement of the investment climate, and the expansion of interregional cooperation.
It was emphasized that there is significant potential to deepen the partnership across a number of key sectors, such as engineering, agriculture, energy, transportation, tourism, and information technology.
The participants noted the complementary nature of the two countries’ economies and expressed interest in developing sustainable, innovation-driven projects.
The Minister also expressed gratitude to Jorge Pais, Vice President of the Portuguese Industrial Association, for assistance in organizing the forum.
