Mikhail Galuzin: “Direct connections create stable economic chains”
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin, gave an interview to media representatives covering the international conference on “Uzbekistan – Russia: Strategic Partnership in the Eurasian Space”, which takes place in the Termez International Trade Center, a free trade zone in Surkhandarya region.
“My colleagues from Uzbekistan showed me the beautiful appearance and rich economic potential of the unique Surkhandarya oasis”, he said. “Of course, this shopping center’s project deserves the highest praise. The center will become a trade zone that plays a key role in expanding trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, as well as in developing a strategic partnership in the Eurasian space.
The International Trade Center, established under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s resolution, is a far-sighted strategic step and a practical outcome of public policy. The presentation of goods and projects by Uzbek and Afghan entrepreneurs at this site contributes to the growth of Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with neighboring Afghanistan. As far as I know, Afghanistan currently ranks fifth among your trading partners.
It is encouraging that Russian regions and entrepreneurs are also showing great interest in this project. I advocate further expansion of cooperation. Today’s international conference is also important in developing such partnerships. After all, direct connections create stable economic chains, opening up new business and investment opportunities”.
