“Babur” TV Series to be shot
Wingspan Group has signed a memorandum with Uzbekkino National Agency on filming TV series “Babur” in Uzbekistan.
In accordance with the memorandum, signed by representatives of Wingspan Group Tasneem Udaipurwala, Neeraj Rathi and the Agency’s Director General Firdavs Abdukhalikov, filmmakers from India will shoot the film in Fergana, Samarkand, Bukhara regions and in Khiva.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for further developing the tourism sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan” of August 13, 2019 and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of September 19, 2020, a rebate system will be introduced for Indian cinematographers.
According to Uzbekkino, the “Babur” series will tell about the childhood and adolescence of Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur, the years of his rule in Afghanistan, his campaign in India, founding by him of the Baburid dynasty, his role in literature, the reforms he carried out in India.
The TV series will help to popularize Babur, increase the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, strengthen international ties and friendship.
Filming of the TV series will begin in December.
