Young parliamentarians gather in Samarkand

The 12th IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians has begun in Samarkand. It is organized by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis in partnership with the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

At the opening of the conference, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva read out President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s congratulatory message to the forum participants.

Approximately 250 delegates, including young parliamentarians from 58 countries and representatives of 11 international organizations, are taking part in the international forum titled “Reclaiming human rights, justice and dignity for all in turbulent times”.

The IPU President Dr. Tulia Ackson, IPU Secretary General Anda Filip, and the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismailov are also participating in the event.
