Strategic partnership in space and digital industries

Issues related to expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States in the fields of space technologies and digital development were discussed.

Priority in this process is given to artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and joint investment projects.

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and representative of the Export-Import Bank of the United States,  John Ahn, discussed Uzbekistan’s national space program, plans to launch the country’s first artificial satellite, the development of Earth remote sensing systems, the creation of modern and sustainable digital infrastructure, as well as the use of American technologies and services in joint projects and issues of coordinating financing mechanisms. The Uzbek side informed about measures being taken to transform the country into a regional IT hub, including establishing specialized centers, increasing exports of digital services, and creating favorable conditions for international technology companies.

During the discussions, it was also recognized that the country has strong human capital, a rapidly expanding IT sector, and ongoing reforms to support the startup ecosystem.
