200 AI projects to be implemented by 2027
Over 100 artificial intelligence projects are already being implemented in Uzbekistan, and their number is expected to double by the end of 2027. This was stated by Oleg Pekos, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the session at the International Exhibition “Innoprom. Central Asia” in Tashkent.
According to him, the emphasis is placed on healthcare. In addition, artificial intelligence technologies are being introduced into education, transport and energy, the banking sector, and the customs service, Kommersant writes.
– We do not implement any multi-expensive large projects, but choose understandable solutions by combining several different models. For example, the cost of the implemented solution is $200-300 thousand, and within a year it pays for itself two or three times”, said Mr. Pekos.

The Deputy Minister added that Uzbekistan is actively developing the social sector through the introduction of AI and focuses on developing human capital, education, and improving the quality of public services. In partnership with the UAE, Uzbekistan has launched the Five Million Uzbek AI Prompters initiative to train personnel in AI. By 2030, it is planned to train 4.75 million schoolchildren and students, 150,000 teachers, and 100,000 civil servants.
In October 2024, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies until 2030. According to the document, Uzbekistan should rank in the top 50 on the AI Readiness Index, and the volume of AI-based software products and services is expected to increase to $1.5 billion.
