European Day of Languages in Tashkent: a platform for language, culture and dialogue
Language is not only a means of communication but also an important bridge that brings different peoples and cultures together. With this in mind, Tashkent will host events focused on language learning, cultural exchange, and exploring different countries to mark the European Day of Languages.
As part of the European Day of Languages 2026, to be held on September 30 this year, a variety of interactive programs will run throughout the day, bringing together representatives of the European Union, diplomatic missions, cultural organizations, universities, students, language learners, and the general public.
At Uzbekistan State World Languages University, native speakers of various languages will introduce participants to European languages through songs, phrases, vocabulary, and interactive activities.
A Language Fair will also be held as part of the event. Country-themed stands will feature games, quizzes, cultural information, and opportunities to explore European languages.
The SpeakEasy Night program will include a short-film screening and discussion, language tables, interactive games, speed networking, and cultural exchange activities.
