The Judo Grand Slam tournament has kicked off in Tashkent, which will provide important rating points for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

364 judokas from 49 countries of the world are taking part in this prestigious tournament.

At the championships, which will take place over three days, talented athletes will compete in 14 weight categories for ranking points for the Olympic Games and a prize fund of 154,000 euros.

President of the International Judo Federation Marius Vizer has arrived in Tashkent.

Minister of Youth Policy and Sports Adkham Ikramov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee Oybek Kasimov, Chairman of Uzbekistan Judo Federation Azizjon Komilov met the high-ranking guest at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.

The Grand Slam will run until March 5.
