Will education and professions be transformed in the age of AI?
A forum on “The risks of artificial intelligence in education and employment” took place as part of ICTWEEK UZBEKISTAN 2026.
During the event, young people took part in a Q&A session with ICT professionals. Experts talked about artificial intelligence’s effects on education and the job market. Representatives from global and local tech firms highlighted the opportunities that AI provides.
Coursera’s Larisa Whitcroft discussed the learning achievements of Uzbek users on the platform. Meanwhile, iFLYTEK’s Jason Zhang showcased AI solutions that can function across several languages.
As part of the forum, the AWS Academy program was officially launched at 12 universities in Uzbekistan. The initiative enables students to gain knowledge and practical skills in modern cloud technologies.
The event also announced the nationwide launch of the “Heirs of Muhammad al-Khwarizmi” project, which aims to train young people in modern professions.
Discussions also focused on preparing a new generation for the age of artificial intelligence and exploring the link between education and the labor market. Representatives from international organizations, tech companies, educational platforms, and industry experts shared insights on equipping youth for emerging careers, enhancing AI skills, and understanding how technology influences employment trends.
Uzbekistan is undertaking various initiatives in artificial intelligence and digital education. The aileaders.uz platform, launched as part of the “Five Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders” project, offers free access to more than 100 courses from providers such as Coursera, Oracle, Alison, and Huawei. By 2026, the platform will have trained around 1.8 million young people and civil servants.
