
The 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union is underway in Tashkent. The prestigious international conference, which will run until April 9, is attended by approximately 2,000 delegates from nearly 190 countries, representatives of international organizations, and media professionals.
Numerous meetings and productive dialogues marked the first day of work for the Assembly. The meeting of the Bureau of Women Parliamentarians and the 39th Session of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, as well as the solemn opening ceremony of the Assembly, took place.
Various events and debates aimed at increasing the participation and activity of parliaments in achieving social development and building a just society were held within the framework of the Assembly, organized at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, under the theme “Parliamentary Movement for Social Development and Justice”.

Meetings of the Governing Committee of the Assembly, the Governing Council, and the Healthcare Advisory Group were held on the second day. The draft resolution will be discussed in the Standing Committees on Peace and International Security and Sustainable Development. A meeting of the Council of the Forum of Young Parliamentarians, the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments, was held. A general debate on “The Parliament’s efforts towards social development and justice” has begun.

The general debates and discussions are underway on the third working day.
Another significant event – the visit and address by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is expected within the framework of the Assembly’s work.
The event will also include a Session of the Bureau of the Standing Committee on UN Affairs. The Standing Committee on Peace and International Security will finalize the resolution.

Meetings of the Working Group on Science and Technology, the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights, and sessions of the Human Rights Committee will be held.
A meeting of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments will be organized. A meeting of the working group on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is scheduled to take place.
The closed sessions of other committees will also be held. A vote is planned on an emergency issue.
