Vegetables make up the largest share of fruit and vegetable exports
Fruit and vegetable exports continue to show steady momentum. Over the first nine months of this year, shipments to foreign markets exceeded 1.56 million tons.
The total value of exported products reached $1.3 billion. According to the National Statistics Committee, vegetables accounted for the largest share of exports by volume.
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan exported 557,200 tons of vegetables, 393,000 tons of fruits and berries, and 206,300 tons of watermelons and melons. Exports of mung beans totaled 36,800 tons, while shipments of peanuts and nuts amounted to 16,700 tons. Exports of other agricultural products reached 350,600 tons.
These figures confirm the strong position of Uzbekistan’s agricultural products in international markets and the country’s considerable production potential.
Alongside increasing export volumes, particular attention is being paid to product quality, storage and packaging systems, logistics, and compliance with international standards. Export competitiveness depends not only on large volumes but also on consistently ensuring the safety and high quality of products supplied.
