Today in New Delhi, India, the World Para Athletics Championships will officially start. On the first day of the competition, nine athletes from Uzbekistan’s national team will compete in various disciplines.

In women’s shot put (F41 class), Uzbekistan will be represented by Kubaro Hakimova and Navruza Akhmatova. In women’s javelin throw (F46 class), Shahina Yigitaliyeva, Khusnora Qudratulloyeva, and Karomat Omonova will vie for the world title.

In men’s competitions, Abduaziz Abdukhakimov will participate in club throw (F32 class), while Qudratullokhon Marufkhodjayev and Tolibboy Yuldoshev will compete in shot put (F37 class), and Yorqinbek Odilov will enter the javelin throw (F57 class).

The World Championships, which run until October 5, will bring together more than 1,000 para-athletes competing for 186 sets of medals.
