The Uzbekistan national fencing team is set to open the 2026 international season by competing in prestigious events.
According to the National Olympic Committee, starting from January 7, members of the Uzbekistan national fencing team will begin the first international competitions of the new sporting year. They will compete in several major tournaments under the auspices of the International Fencing Federation, to be held in the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, and France.
From January 8 to 11, a World Cup épée stage will be held in the United Arab Emirates. At the same time, from January 9 to 11, a Grand Prix stage in sabre will take place in Tunisia, bringing together the world’s strongest sabre fencers. On January 9-11, France will host a World Cup stage in the foil event.
Participation in the first international events of 2026 will be an essential step in preparing Uzbekistan’s fencers for the season’s key competitions and will allow them to assess their readiness to compete against the world’s leading masters.
