The eighth-round matches of the III Al-Beruni International Chess Tournament at the International Chess Academy will take place today.

In the Masters group, Mukhiddin Madaminov will face Aram Hakobyan from Armenia, while Afruza Khamdamova will play against Volodar Murzin from Russia.

Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova and Muhammadzokhid Suyarov will also meet in the Challengers group, while Davron Sharipov and Madinabonu Khalilova will play in the Futures group.

Currently, two Armenian chess players, Aram Hakobyan and Shant Sargsyan, lead the Masters group with 4.5 points each.

Aditya Mittal from India leads the Challengers group with 5.5 points, and Aldiyar Ansat from Kazakhstan and Artur Davtyan from Armenia lead the Futures group with 5.5 points each. In addition, Behruz Umarov holds the lead in the Open group with 6.5 points.
