Uzbekistan’s active participation in Inter-Parliamentary Union activities receives high praise
As part of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Uzbekistan’s delegation held bilateral meetings to develop interparliamentary ties and coordinate future areas of cooperation.
At a meeting between the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva and the newly elected President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia Milton Dick, the parties discussed priority areas for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IPU for 2026-2029.
Milton Dick highly praised Uzbekistan’s participation in the IPU’s activities, particularly emphasizing the importance of the country’s leadership’s commitment to strengthening interparliamentary dialogue and the consistency of its policy in this area.

Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia proposed holding an online meeting with the Uzbek side in the near future to discuss priorities for further cooperation and the inclusion of Uzbekistan’s initiatives in the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Action Plan for 2026-2029.
He also expressed interest in strengthening interparliamentary ties with the Oliy Majlis and in developing bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Australia.
