Uzbekistan to increase its involvement in international aviation

During a Senate plenary session, the law “On ratification of the protocols amending the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Montreal, October 6, 2016)” was discussed.

Alisher Agzamkhodjayev, Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment, and Tourism, emphasized that the protocols aim to expand the representation of member states in the governing and expert bodies of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ensure a more balanced consideration of regional interests in decision-making, and strengthen the organization’s institutional and expert capacity.

The law passed by senators establishes a legal foundation for increasing Uzbekistan’s involvement in the organization’s institutional reforms.
