A videoconference has been held between the Director of Syrdarya Beans Export, Zafar Turayev, and Director General of Ghaza Faravar Penguin, Mohammed Zaman, to further enhance the export potential of Uzbekistan and diversify its composition within the framework of ensuring the implementation of the Presidential Resolution “On measures to further support export activities”.
Prospects for the development of exports to Iran of various types of legumes grown in Uzbekistan were discussed at the meeting.
It was noted that the legumes of Uzbekistan fully meet the requirements of high quality and international standards, and therefore, Ghaza Faravar Penguin Company is ready to buy this product in large volume, as they remain in high demand in Iran.
According to the agreement reached during the online meeting and direct negotiations between the parties, the two companies signed an agreement on the supply of 500 tons of beans produced in Uzbekistan to Iran, the total cost of which is $565 thousand.
The first batch of 50 tons of legumes to Iran as part of the initial phase of the agreement was exported following the meeting.
Preliminary agreements were also reached between the parties on the export of mung beans and other varieties of beans from Uzbekistan to Iran in the future.
