On the opening day of the ASEAN Track Series taking place in Nilai, Malaysia, the Uzbekistan national team won one gold and one bronze medal.

In the women’s elimination event, national team member Nafosat Qoziyeva finished the race in third place, while in the men’s omnium competitions, Sergey Rostovtsev outperformed all his rivals and claimed first place.

Recall that this competition, which runs until 11 January, serves as a qualifying stage for the Track Cycling World Cup to be held in Perth, Australia, in March this year.

In addition, the ranking points earned during the World Cup stages will secure qualification for the Track Cycling World Championships, scheduled for October in Shanghai, China.
